Laser Therapy

Light energy that fuels nerve cells and calms chronic pain.
Laser therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy or cold laser, uses specific wavelengths of light to penetrate the skin and energize the cells beneath. For neuropathy, it offers a powerful, drug-free way to reduce pain, calm inflammation and support the repair of damaged nerve tissue.

It is painless, relaxing and backed by a growing body of clinical research for nerve-related conditions.

How laser therapy heals

At the heart of every cell is the mitochondria, the tiny engine that produces the energy your cells run on. When nerve cells are damaged, their energy production falters and healing slows to a crawl. Laser therapy delivers light energy that the mitochondria absorb, boosting their production of ATP, the fuel of cellular repair. With more energy available, damaged nerve cells are better able to function and recover.

This process, called photobiomodulation, does more than energize cells. It improves local circulation, reduces inflammation and helps modulate the pain signals that make neuropathy so disruptive. The result is a therapy that addresses both the symptoms you feel and the underlying tissue health that drives them.

Relief without medication

For people who are tired of medications that leave them foggy or simply do not work, laser therapy is a welcome alternative. It does not mask pain, it helps create the conditions for genuine healing. Many patients notice reduced burning and tingling, improved sensation and a calmer, more comfortable baseline as their course of care progresses.

What a session is like

Laser therapy is completely painless. We move a laser device over the affected areas of your feet, legs, hands or arms, and you may feel a gentle, soothing warmth, or nothing at all. There is no discomfort and no downtime. Sessions are brief, and most patients find them deeply relaxing, a quiet few minutes that fit easily into a busy day.

Because nerve healing is gradual, laser therapy is delivered over a series of sessions. The benefits are cumulative, building visit by visit as cellular energy and circulation improve and inflammation settles. We track your symptoms and function throughout to ensure the plan keeps working for you.

Part of a coordinated program

Laser therapy shines brightest when combined with the other tools in our neuropathy program. While shockwave and compression improve the blood supply and Neuromed stimulates nerve signaling, laser therapy works at the cellular level to power repair and quiet pain. Together these therapies create an environment where damaged nerves have their best chance to recover.

Finding out if it can help you

Laser therapy is appropriate for many forms of peripheral neuropathy, including diabetic, chemotherapy-induced and idiopathic types. The first step is always the same: a simple, painless nerve scan that measures your nerve and circulation health. From there we will tell you honestly whether laser therapy, as part of a personalized plan, is likely to help you feel and function better.

What progress can look like

Patients who respond well to laser therapy frequently describe a calmer, quieter baseline, less of the constant burning and electric tingling that makes neuropathy so exhausting. As cellular energy and circulation improve, sensation can sharpen and sleep often improves simply because the feet are no longer screaming at night. Results build session by session and vary with the degree of nerve damage, so we keep your expectations grounded and your plan flexible. By re-testing your nerve and circulation health periodically, we can confirm that the therapy is doing its job and make thoughtful adjustments to keep your recovery progressing as efficiently as possible.
