North Idaho Neuropathy

Conditions We Treat

Neuropathy has many causes. Whatever yours, our focus stays the same, improving nerve health and helping you feel and function better.
From diabetes to chemotherapy to causes that can never quite be pinned down, the nerves respond to the same fundamental strategy: restore circulation and stimulate repair. Here are the conditions we most commonly help.
1
Diabetic Neuropathy
Diabetes is the most common cause of peripheral neuropathy. Over time, high blood sugar damages the small blood vessels that feed your nerves, particularly in the feet and legs, leading to numbness, burning, tingling and a dangerous loss of sensation.

Because reduced feeling makes injuries easy to miss, diabetic neuropathy carries real risks for the feet. Our program focuses on improving circulation and supporting nerve health to help reduce symptoms and protect your mobility, working alongside the blood-sugar management guided by your physician.
2
Chemotherapy-Induced Neuropathy
Many life-saving chemotherapy drugs are toxic to peripheral nerves, leaving survivors with numbness, tingling, pain and weakness in the hands and feet, a condition known as chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, or CIPN. For some, it lingers long after treatment ends.

These symptoms can make everyday tasks and steady walking difficult. Our therapies aim to improve circulation and stimulate nerve recovery, helping many survivors regain comfort and function so they can fully enjoy life after treatment.
3
Idiopathic Neuropathy
In a significant number of cases, no clear cause for the nerve damage is ever identified. This is called idiopathic neuropathy. The lack of an obvious source can be frustrating, but it does not mean the symptoms cannot be helped.

Regardless of why the nerves were damaged, our approach addresses the nerves themselves, improving blood flow and stimulating repair. Many patients with idiopathic neuropathy experience meaningful improvement once their care focuses on nerve health rather than chasing an elusive cause.
4
Peripheral Neuropathy
Peripheral neuropathy is the broad term for damage to the peripheral nerves that carry signals between the brain and the rest of the body. It most often affects the feet and hands, producing numbness, burning, tingling, pain and balance problems.

Whatever its origin, peripheral neuropathy responds to a strategy that restores circulation and supports nerve repair. Our comprehensive, multi-therapy program is designed to do exactly that, tailored to your specific pattern and severity of symptoms.
5
Spinal-Induced Neuropathy
Sometimes the symptoms in your legs and feet actually begin at the spine. When discs bulge or the openings where nerves exit become narrowed, those nerves can be compressed, producing numbness, tingling and pain that mimics peripheral neuropathy.

Treating only the feet will never resolve a problem rooted in the spine. Our program includes spinal decompression to relieve that pressure at the source, combined with therapies for the extremities, so every contributor to your symptoms is addressed.
6
Statin-Induced Neuropathy
Statin medications, widely prescribed to lower cholesterol, can in some people contribute to peripheral nerve symptoms over time. The result may be numbness, tingling or aching in the hands and feet that develops during long-term use.

If you are experiencing nerve symptoms while taking a statin, never stop your medication without speaking to your prescribing doctor. Our role is to support your nerve health through circulation and repair-focused therapies while you and your physician manage your medications.
7
Cardiac & Circulatory Issues
Poor circulation from cardiovascular and peripheral vascular conditions can starve the peripheral nerves of the oxygen and nutrients they need, leading to or worsening neuropathy symptoms in the legs and feet, often with coldness, cramping or heaviness.

Because circulation is so central to nerve health, our therapies that boost blood flow, such as shockwave, compression and vibration, can be particularly valuable here. We coordinate care with your medical providers to support both your circulation and your nerves.
